Valentine's Day!

So I am not really good at the whole surprise it's Valentine's Day but Rick is... so with him being super busy and stressed out with French class and no time I attempted to step up to the plate this year and to the fun Valentine's Day stuff, lets just say I had some big shoes to fill! Rick is always so good about having everything just PERFECT on special occasions such as this. I was never big on Valentine's Day even if I was sorta dating someone until I met Rick. Yup you got it we started dating on Valentine's Day 2008! So it has been a bit of a special one for us! To all those who have already heard this story sorry! Rick and I had been in the same singles ward for 2 years and never met, but then of course fate intervened... we both got the same calling! Divine intervention could wait no longer! I was called to be a Special Needs Counselor and had been in that calling for a few months before Rick got called. I absolutely loved it and it will be my favorite calling forever. Rick was called around Christmas time but again we still never really met, with this calling you are pretty involved with the special needs young and older adults so there isn't much interaction with the other counselors. Well Valentine's Day came around and there was this awesome Valentine's dance that we put on for them. It was a blast and it was so much fun to see them all enjoying themselves dancing around. As a counselor we were allowed to bring a date with us because they didn't want to take away from us being able to have a enjoyable time as well. I wasn't dating anyone at the time and Rick had just gotten dumped the week before, so here we were both single at the Valentine's dance all dressed up. I can't find any of the pics from the dance but here are some from other activities after that fateful night. Ok back to Valentine's dance, so the girl I was with all night wanted to hang out the girl Rick was with and I also think she kind of had a bit of a crush on him so the 4 of us hung out that night and the rest is history. No joke Rick and I were engaged a month and a half later and then married 3 months after that... that's right from first date to wedding... 4 1/2 months! It isn't what I suggest for everyone but it worked for us and we have had an amazing time so far and it keeps getting better! Now we are expanding that Maloy craziness by adding our own little offspring in July... gender yet to be determined!

Now back to V-day this year, so I made some heart shaped biscuits for breakfast on the Saturday before the big day and they were amazing! Best biscuits ever! Then on Sunday I made of course my favorite heart shaped sugar cookies, something I have done every year for as long as I can remember! Then on actual V-day I picked up my flowers that Rick got me that he didn't know about yet and then I made homemade heart shaped pizza, BBQ chicken style! It was pretty good, Rick loved it but I thought it could have been better! So a pretty successful Valentine's Day and I can't believe it has been 3 years that Rick and I have been together and life couldn't be better!
